Christmas and New Years in Japan Part 1 Kobe

For the Christmas holidays, my cousin came to visit me and we went around Kansai (Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka). One thing that's annoying about Ritsumeikan is that compared to other universities they are somehow known for not taking holidays off even though it's a national holiday. ;) Yeah, this meant that we had class on Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day. Like WTF right? What's even worse is that they gave us an exam on both fucking days FFS, well obviously not 上田先生 because he's fabulous and we just had a fun lesson Osaka ben ehehehe. Oh and BTW Saturday makeup class is also thing here. This was one of the annoying things about this uni, but by all means you can skip lol. One of our teachers wanted to take the first monday off teaching in January so she moved the class to the saturday before the week we break up. I skipped that class for the first time lol because saturday class sucks, and it wasn't like we had test or anything.

Arima Onsen was my first destination and I spent 2 nights there. Although I would advise y'all to stay in a hotel in Sannomiya or something because staying the night in Arima Onsen was £££££ and there actually isn't much to see there apart from the onsen LOL Don't make my mistake. Arima onsen is famous for the Kin no Yu and Gin no Yu, since my cousin and I stayed in a hotel there we received free tickets to both onsens. Kin no Yu sounds hella fancy but in reality the water's colour looks muddy lol. But it was a nice experience. By the way the onsen milk is really really good. :D

After our time in Arima onsen, we headed to Sannomiya and spent the day there before heading back to Kyoto. I haven't been to Kobe much but there was one place I really wanted to visit which was Kitano-Cho. What's so interesting about this place is that there are European style influenced houses!!! Oh and one thing I didn't know and was stupid enough not to look up was that all these houses are on a fucking hill. OML I didn't know and carried a really heavy bag that day so I would advise anyone going there to bring a light bag if they go. The hill is fucking steep bruh it feels like you're climbing a mountain. But it was a really nice place even though the mini England felt nothing like England LOL but ngl the starbucks there felt just like home but a tad bit fancier ;)
