I'm in level 6 class this semester! The semester has only just begun and there are 3 textbooks we use: the purple one is for readingそごclass, the pink one for career Japanese and the last one is for listening and speaking class. This semester I have 7 classes per week which is the minimum classes required for students at Ritsumeikan university. Below the books I took pictures of the courses available to exchange students and some of them might be held in the Osaka campus or Shiga campus too! So be careful. I was happy with just the Japanese classes and therefore did not take any of these classes so I can't give anymore details on these extra classes.
Although there are more tests in level 6, they aren't too difficult if anything the weekly tests in level 5 was more effort. There is a bigger focus on reading in this level and less emphasis on grammar as most of that is covered in level 5. Technically according to one of my former teacher level 5 and 6 are the better levels where you will learn something because most people say level 4 is too easy with too much unecessary homework. And then in level 7 there are only 3 Japanese classes a week and since you need 7 for minimum credits you need to take other classes but in that level you have a much larger selection for classes because most classes are in Japanese. It is a bit of a shame that those are only available to level 7. Other than the compulsory Japanese classes in the IJL program there aren't anymore Japanese language classes available which is a downside to Ritsumeikan.
