Arrival at KIX

I flew to Japan via Paris on Air France airline, I personally hate travelling for long periods of time therefore Air France was a good choice because it only took 15 hours for me to get there from Manchester airport. I would have chosen Cathy Pacific if Ritsumeikan told me earlier about when I should arrive in Japan oml. I think Cathy Pacific lets you have more than the average 23kg for your check in baggage.

Part-time work permit !!!

Ritsumeikan university sent me the application form so when I was getting my Residence card, I was asked if I wanted to do バイトI said yes and gave my application form in and got it done! At first I was confused since he pointed to the front of the card where it says "Permission to work is not allowed" but that actually refers to full time employment!!! The stamp that tells you that you can work is on the back of the card right at the bottom!!! I had to confirm with my friend HAHHAHA. I was so confused lmao

I've arrived in Kansai International airport but unluckily Typhoon Jebi decided to travel across Western Japan aka Osaka and Kyoto area today so I have to stay in the airport till tomorrow morning. I got placed in I-House Utano which was my 2nd choice. FML I really wanted Taishogun since it's closer and newer but I didn't get placed there. Apparently it's not first come first serve basis when they assign you IDEK. But I am terrified of these Japanese bugs and I've heard a few things about those in Utano.......I just hope since the people who wrote about seeing them were from a few years ago, there won't be such a big problem with them now. Pray for me.

Kansai International Airport isn't as big as Narita in my opinion...but then that's only the outside so far meaning not the areas where there should be more shops when you go in after check in and fly from the airport. I was going to stay overnight at the airport to wait, but I checked to see if there were any rooms available at the airport hotel...and thankfully there was just one room!!! T__T it's pricy but oh well. Oh and if you haven't been doing any Japanese because of that long ass summer holiday then you should revise it because you never know what you need to ask. OML I was not ready for explaining about wanting one room today and check out tomorrow at first but I got there in the end, the counter guy understood me fine.

[LOL speaking of which, you can skip this if you want lmfao but when I was on the plane, since it was operated by Air France flying from Paris, they mainly spoke French and Japanese since it's going to Japan so I wasn't sure if they could speak English. If you have any allergies, apparently you need to somehow write that down 48 hours before your flight WHICH the lady on the phone did not tell me smh. I did check it when I did check in the day before my flight but there was nothing there about allergies or notes on it???? IDEK OK But thankfully it was fine, there wasn't any nuts in anything, but basically I asked the lady in Japanese and at one part she couldn't understand me??? I was like holy shit is my Japanese that rusty? 0_o So she asked another cabin crew to come over and he spoke to me in mandarin but LOL I don't speak mandarin monsieur??? I would have preferred French since I'd understand a bit but he replied in English when I told him I don't speak Mandarin but I do speak English obvs in English. :' ) ]

I was meant to be taking the bus to Kyoto station or Demachiyanagi Station and then either taking the taxi to my dorm or to Uzumasa Station. I don't know exactly how much the taxi costs but I do know they are pretty pricy £££...
